This past week, on December 22, we loaded up the CLDI Sprinter van and headed east toward Kharkiv. While the city bears the scars of war, the church there remains a vibrant beacon of hope.
Our destination was a local partner church that had organized a special outreach. Members of the congregation invited their friends and neighbors—many of whom have lost jobs or homes—to attend a devotional service. It was a powerful time of community where we not only distributed essential food supplies but also shared the encouragement of God’s Word.
Meeting Pastor Alexander
One of the highlights of this trip was reconnecting with Pastor Alexander (pictured above). He is a prime example of the courageous leadership we are privileged to support.
Beyond his regular pastoral duties, Alexander serves as a volunteer chaplain. Once a month, he leaves the relative safety of his home to spend a full week at a military hospital near the front lines. There, he ministers to wounded soldiers, offering a listening ear, prayer, and spiritual comfort in their darkest moments.
Your Generosity in Action
Because of your financial support, I was able to provide Pastor Alexander with funds specifically for this hospital ministry. These funds will purchase coffee, food, and other essential items that allow him to bring a touch of home and comfort to the soldiers he visits.
It is a privilege to equip men like Pastor Alexander who are doing the heavy lifting of ministry in dangerous places.
Prayer Focus As we return from this trip, we ask you to join us in prayer:
- For the Soldiers: Pray for the wounded men in the military hospital, for their physical recovery and that their hearts would be open to the Gospel.
- For the Chaplains: Pray for Pastor Alexander and other volunteer chaplains. Ask God to give them strength, safety, and the right words to speak hope into the lives of those they serve.
Thank you for being part of this mission. Your giving is directly impacting lives in Kharkiv and on the front lines.
Support the Frontline
None of this is possible without your partnership. Your contributions fuel our vans, purchase essential food supplies, and equip chaplains like Alexander to share the love of Christ where it is needed most. If you feel led to support these ongoing relief efforts and help us continue these critical trips, please visit our donation page.
